The best thing about being an adult, is that you make the rules. So, if you want to eat chocolate muffins for breakfast topped with your favorite snack, you can!

And I’ll be honest with you. I had so much fun making them – I felt like a kid again! It all starts with a simple homemade chocolate muffin (which is basically a healthier version of my chocolate cupcakes).

Then, they’re topped with itty bitty teddy bear graham crackers. (That’s the fun part!). It’s a breakfast that feels like a snack and tastes like a dessert!

If you’ve been keeping up with me on socials like Instagram and TikTok, you’ll know that I’m a bit obsessed with chocolate. In fact, I recently shared my favourite chocolate recipes in a mini-roundup!

And now I went and created another one. I couldn’t help it!

Any Flavor Will Work

I used classic teddy graham cookies, but you don’t have to use the exact same flavor that I did. Double the chocolate with some chocolate graham cookies or add a little flair with chocolate chips ones.

No Grahams? No Problem!

Yes, you can make the muffins without the teddy graham cookies on top! It won’t change the recipe at all.

Yes, Bake The Muffins With The Cookies On Top

Unlike other recipes (like my Easter Mini Egg Cookies) where you add the toppings at the end, you need to add the graham crackers on top of the unbaked batter.

Otherwise, the teddy graham crackers won’t stick to the muffins when they are fully baked!

How To Store Homemade Muffins

It’s best to store your homemade chocolate muffins in an airtight container and keep them in a cool, dark place (like your pantry). Basically, keep the air and light off of them so they don’t get stale.

Then, just eat them up within a week.

You can freeze the muffins, too.

Wrap each chocolate muffin in plastic wrap and place them in a freezer-safe food storage bag. Then, keep them in the freezer for up to six months.

How To Make Chocolate Teddy Muffins

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a standard muffin pan with paper liners, and set aside.

In a large bowl, sift together all dry ingredients: flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt. Set aside.

In another large bowl, mix together wet ingredients: eggs, Greek yogurt, vegetable oil and milk.

Slowly add dry ingredients into wet ingredients. Mix until a thick batter forms. Fold in chocolate chips.

Scoop the muffin batter into the lined muffin tin (you’ll have to do two batches since most standard muffin pans have 12 sections). You’ll want to fill ¾ of each section about with muffin batter.

Top off each muffin with 3-4 Teddy graham cookies

Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center. Allow to cool for about 5 minutes Serve and enjoy!
