I’m Lisa Silvestre, the baker and founder of The Secret Crunch. This is my cozy corner of the internet dedicated to cookies, cute desserts, and helping beginner bakers feel surprisingly confident in the kitchen.

I’m also a mom of two, a lifelong dessert lover, and someone who learned all her baking skills from her very own mom.

My love for baking started with cookies: I always wanted to be the mom who the good cookies. I wanted to be THAT mom whose cookies people would request and talk about.

Somewhere along the way, that simple goal turned into a passion for creating desserts that are adorable, approachable, and actually doable for everyday bakers.

My Baking Philosophy

I believe cookies are the best place to start if you want to become a confident baker. Why? They’re forgiving, they’re quick, and they teach you the foundations of baking with the pressure of complicated desserts.
