Ginger bells, ginger bells… ginger all the way!
Thanks for stopping by! My name is Lisa, and I’m the blogger behind Moments With Lisa, where I share my experiences in raising a family of four in a 1000 sq. ft. condo.
For many people, 1000 square feet may seem a little tight, but through my content, I hope to inspire you to organize, decorate, and cook delicious meals in your small space.
Decorating a Small Space for the Holidays
Seasonal decorating can feel cluttered FAST – especially when you have a small home. I like to keep things simple around our condo by using nice, bright colours, and keeping décor to a minimum.
When it comes to seasonal décor, I like to stick with a theme – this allows the space to feel a little less cluttered, and more intentional.
This year, I went for a gingerbread theme. A huge part of this theme are my DIY gingerbread cookies ornaments.
Why You Should Use Gingerbread Cookies Ornaments on Your Tree
My gingerbread ornaments are made with an easy homemade cinnamon salt dough recipe. Here are a few reasons why I opted for this type of ornamental décor:
- They’re easy to make
- They smell fantastic
- They’re simple and not too gaudy
- They’re budget-friendly (you can make tons for pennies on the dollar, hence, really filling up your tree)
They Won’t Look Perfect
What I love about this cinnamon salt dough recipe is that not one ornament looks the same. Each shape that comes out has character, giving off a rustic/vibe look. So don’t feel bad if not all the ornaments look completely alike/uniform. It’s what makes them unique!
Can I Store These Ornaments?
I make these every year and avoid storing them to prevent any mold issues (they are made of flour and water, after all). Plus, making them every year allows your home to smell just like the holidays – especially during the baking process.
